The World Surf League (WSL) recently declared the Apple Watch the official wearable device.
Surfers will receive an Apple Watch Ultra or Apple Watch Series 8 when competing, with an app that provides vital details like ten hours remaining, wave priority and score, and syncs in real time with the league’s scoring system. Furthermore, the Apple Watch is set as the official equipment in the sports environment. Eric Jue, director of product marketing for Apple Watch, said the company is thrilled that WSL is adopting the Apple Watch and giving surfers the ability to compete at the highest level.
The 2023 Championship Tour kicks off this January in partnership with Billabong Pro Pipeline. The surf tournament will feature 10 events in 7 countries and will be broadcast on the WSL official website, official YouTube channel and World Surf League app.
