As part of the class system rework announced last November, DICE has released a new Battlefield 2042 class overview that includes tools, weapon proficiencies, and gear details for the four new classes. The new job system will launch next week with the release of Update 3.2.

As part of the shift to a more traditional class system, Battlefield 2042’s diverse roster of specialists is broken down into Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon. The Class Overview displays all equipment for the new class.
violence:
- Class Equipment: Medical Pen
- Weapon proficiency: 3 extra magazines for assault rifles
- Class Gadgets: C5 Explosive, IBA Armor Plate, M18 Claymore, Smoke Launcher
engineer:
- Class Equipment: Repair Tool
- Weapon Proficiency: Increased accuracy while crouching or prone with light machine guns
- Class Gadgets: AT Mines, C5 Explosives, EOD Bots, FXM-33 AA, FM-148 Javelin, Recoilless M5
support:
- Class Equipment: Defibrillator
- Weapon proficiency: faster draw times with SMGs
- Class Gadgets: Ammo Box, Health Box, M18 Claymore, Smoke Launcher
reconnaissance:
- Class Equipment: Insert Beacon
- Weapon Mastery: Instant and constant scope with a sniper rifle
- Class Gadgets: C5 Explosive, M18 Claymore, Prox Sensor, Soflam, Tracer Dart, T-UGS
The new class system kicks off with the release of Update 3.2 coming out next week.
