But under the new recharge plan of Rs 155, users will get the facility of unlimited calling. With this validity of 28 days, one GB internet data and 300 SMS facility will also be available. The company first rolled out the Rs 155 plan after discontinuing the Rs 99 minimum monthly prepaid recharge plan in Haryana and Odisha in November 2022. Now the company is going to rollout this plan in seven other circles.

Airtel spokesperson says that in view of our focus on providing better experience to the customer, we have decided to discontinue the metered tariff and have come up with a new entry level plan of Rs 155. In this, the customer will also get 1 GB data and 300 SMS along with unlimited calling.
After making Airtel’s prepaid mobile tariff expensive, the customers who were till now recharging the plan by paying Rs 99 will have to spend about 57 percent more. This decision of the company will help in increasing the average revenue per user (ARPU).
Several brokerage reports believe that as of September 2022, Airtel had a total of 32.98 crore mobile customers, including 10.9 crore 2G customers, out of which 3.34 crore customers use the minimum monthly prepaid recharge plan.
