thane: Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) celebrated the 74th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm on Thursday. The flag was raised by Abhijit Bangar, TMC Director and Administrator.
TMC security forces and firefighters salute the flag. TMC Director Abhijit Bangar was also saluted by firefighters and security personnel.
Received ‘Award of Merit’ for Environmental Sanitation Workers
Meanwhile, 10 representative environmental cleaners who contributed to the cleanliness of Thane City were recognized for their excellence and received the ‘Man of Merit Award’ from the TMC Chairman.
The celebration was also attended by Transport Commission Chairman Vilas Joshi, Additional Commissioner Sandeep Malvi, Sanjay Herwade and other officials and staff.
After the flag was raised, flowers were offered to statues of respected leaders and respected city figures in the K. Narendra Ballal Auditorium.
Also during the event, the ‘Democracy Week’ program, which runs from January 26th to February 10th, 2023, was launched.
Finally, TMC employees pledged to effectively implement the central government’s Tobacco and Tobacco Products Control Act 2003 ordinance on banning e-cigarettes.
