February 4th Cleveland Utility Assistance Resource Fair


Cleveland — According to an announcement by the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, the Ohio Regional Sewer District will host a Utility Assistance Resources Fair on February 4 in partnership with Cleveland City Councilmembers Stephanie Howse and Anthony Hairston.

Qualifying customers can enroll in a variety of assistance programs at the fair to receive financial assistance with their water, sewage, gas and electricity bills.

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District’s Affordability Program, which provides a 40 percent discount on sewer bills, and the Crisis Assistance Program, which provides up to a $300 credit on sewer bills, are among the programs that the Fair can enroll in. .

The City of Cleveland Water, CPP, Dominion, FirstEnergy, CHN Housing Partners, STEP FORWARD and Community Housing Solutions departments will be on site, the announcement said.

The fair is held from 9 am to 12 pm at The East Professional Center at 1349 E. 79th Street. Reservations can be made by calling 216-881-8247 and, although preferred, on-site visits are permitted.

According to the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, attendees must bring:

Submit utility bills (electricity, gas, sewer and/or water) and proof of household income (eg pay stubs, social security statements, most recently filed IRS 1040 or other documentation) to Resource Fair. To maximize participation in as many programs as possible, attendees should also bring copies of:

  • birth certificate
  • Identification (driver’s license or state ID)
  • Additional medical insurance (if applicable)
  • social security card
  • Lease agreement (for lessee)
