Gadgets Weekly: Titan Talk S and more

Tech companies like Titan, Tecno Mobile and Sony released new watches, cameras, smartphones and more this week (January 9-15).

DH’s Gadgets Weekly edition lists the latest personal tech products to keep abreast of everything happening in the world of consumer electronics.

Titan Torque S
The new Talk S smartwatch features a 1.78-inch AMOLED display with a functional crown on the side to help you navigate the watch’s interface.
It tracks over 100 sports activities, can store music with TWS connectivity, and has a built-in mood and stress monitor, AI voice assistant and animated watch faces.

You can monitor your respiratory rate, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), blood pressure, sleep and women’s health. It supports the ability to control your phone’s camera and has a voice recorder, calculator, activity tracker, weather information and sports tracker.

It has hydration and sedentary warning features. Battery life is 5 days under normal use. The new Titan Talk S comes in 4 colors: black, blue, green and rose gold and is priced at Rs 8,995.

Sony FR7 Cinema Line Full Frame PTZ Camera
The FR7 promises to deliver smooth pan, tilt and zoom (PTZ) control coupled with a full-frame image sensor and a lineup of high-quality E-mount lenses.

Additionally, the focal length and shallow depth of field provide photographers with creative freedom, combined with remote PTZ control. The world’s first full-frame interchangeable lens camera with remote pan, tilt and zoom (PTZ) capability.

It comes with a 35mm full-frame CMOS image sensor and BIONZ XR™ processing. It supports variable PTZ movement, real-time Eye AF and real-time tracking for seamless camera operation, comes with up to 100 preset camera positions, and has Sony’s electronically controlled variable ND filter built-in.

It also features internal XAVC recording and external RAW output, supports Ethernet connectivity and multi-camera production synchronization.

It features a 6.56-inch HD+ (1612 x 720p) display with 480 nits brightness, triple slots (for two nano SIMs and microSD cards), rear fingerprint sensor, and IP52 waterproof rating.

Comes with 2GHz MediaTek Helio A22 quad core, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage (expandable up to 256GB), HiOS 12 based on Android 12, dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD), 13MP sensor (f/1.85) and secondary . AI lens with dual LED flash on the back, 5MP sensor on the front (with dual micro slit flash) and 5,000mAh battery with 10W charger inbox.

The Tecno Spark Go is available in three colors black, blue and purple and is priced at Rs 6,999.

AMD Ryzen and Athlon 7020 Series
Built on TSMC’s advanced 6nm manufacturing technology, the new Ryzen and Athlon 7020 series chipsets promise to deliver faster and more efficient performance.

Coming with smart battery management and dedicated video and audio playback hardware, systems powered by Ryzen and Athlon 7020 series processors are ideal for video conferencing and collaboration, office productivity and multitasking.

Laptops with the new AMD Ryzen or Athlon 7020 series silicon promise up to 12 hours of battery life. The Ryzen 7020 series processors deliver best-in-class performance with up to 58% faster multitasking and 31% faster application launch speeds than the competition on the AMD Ryzen 3 7320U CPU.

Built on the AMD RDNA 2 graphics architecture, AMD Ryzen and Athlon 7020 series processors can support up to four displays powered by integrated Radeon 610M series graphics and advanced decoding support for high-resolution streaming. It will be featured in upcoming laptops in 2023.

Fire-Boltt Talk-Ultra Smartwatch
It sports a 1.39-inch circular dial display with HD (240×240) resolution and comes with IP68 certification, meaning it can withstand up to 1.5 meters (about 5 feet) of water pressure for about 30 minutes.

It comes with accelerometer, barometer, gyro sensor and light sensor. It can track SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation), heart monitor, and features a step counter, workout time timer, and distance calculator. It supports Bluetooth to pair with a phone and users can even receive calls right from their wrist.

It comes in six colors – black, blue, gray, pink, red and turquoise – and is priced at Rs 1,999.

Garmin Venu 2 Plus get ECG.
With approval from the US Federal Drug Administration (FDA), Garmin has begun rolling out Electrocardiogram (ECG) functionality in its smartwatch Venu 2 Plus.

“When a customer takes an ECG, the ECG app uses the sensors on the Venu 2 Plus to record electrical signals that control the heartbeat. The ECG app then analyzes that recording to detect signs of AFib. ECG app results are sent to Garmin Connect, which allows customers to view a record of their ECG app results and generate reports that can be shared with healthcare providers.”

However, there is no official word on when Garmin will introduce ECG in the Venu 2 Plus sold in India.
