An iPad helped recover a stolen car from a scammer in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Bloomington police recently arrested a man suspected of stealing a car from the JW Marriott Hotel. Police Chief Mike Utecht explained that the man tricked his way into obtaining the car keys by saying that his wife had a valet ticket and that he needed to get something in the car.
Fortunately, the car was loaded with an iPad from the victim’s stepson. They started tracking it with an app and found it parked in Minneapolis. Local police responded to the scene, but the suspect had already driven away.
Continuing to pursue the vehicle, officers drove to a St. Paul and McDonald’s parking lot, where they apprehended and detained the suspect before arrest by Bloomington Police. The man had three outstanding warrants on record, including one for violation of parole.
