AMD officially announced that it will launch the Ryzen 7000X3D series flagship CPU equipped with 3D V-Cache technology on February 28. The top-of-the-line Ryzen 9 7950X3D is priced at US$699, the same as last year’s Ryzen 9 7950X, but with lower power consumption. The cache is greatly increased, and both games and creations have higher performance.
AMD released the Ryzen 7000X3D series CPUs at CES2023 last month, of which the Ryzen 9 7950X3D will be equipped with 16 Zen-4 cores and 32 threads. The Boost clock is still 5.7GHz but the base clock is slightly lower than the 7950X (see the table below) , L2+L3 Cache has a total of 144MB, 80% more than 7950X. AMD said at the press conference that this CPU is more efficient than Intel’s 13th generation flagship i9-13900K, and the TDP is nearly 30% lower than that of the 7950X, only 120W. In terms of price, the opening price of Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 7950X is US$699 (approximately HK$5,478).
Along with the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D was launched on February 28, equipped with 12 cores and 24 threads, the Boost clock is 5.6GHz like the 7900X, the L2+L3 cache is 140MB, and the TDP is 120W like the 7950X3D. But in terms of price, it is US$50 more expensive than 7900X, and the opening price is US$599 (about HK$4,694).
For friends with limited budget, it will take more than half a month. Ryzen 7 7800X3D will not be launched until April 6th, providing 8 cores and 16 threads, Boost clock frequency is 5.0GHz, L2+L3 cache is 104MB, TDP still needs 120W , much higher than the 105W of the 7700X. The selling price is US$449 (about HK$3,519), which is more expensive than the Non-X Ryzen 9 7900.
Existing AM5 motherboards will be compatible with Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs through BIOS updates, and in terms of cooling, the official recommendation is to use at least 280mm AIO water cooling to achieve the best performance.
