Sanawad (Madhya Pradesh): Local MLA Sachin Birla has laid the cornerstone for infrastructure work under PM Jal Jeevan Mission worth Rs 4.40 crore in the villages of Akya, Okhla and Chainpura in Barwaha tehsil, Khargone District. MLA said at the gathering that the Jal Jeevan Mission was introduced by the Modi government to provide every household with safe and adequate drinking water through an individual faucet connection. Birla said the national and provincial governments are committed to providing safe drinking water to every household in every village in the state.
Huge drinking water tanks, door-to-door pipelines, filter plants and boundary walls will be built under the plan. Apart from that, MLA laid the cornerstones for community buildings in the Shiv temple in Okhala village and the Okhaleshwar temple. He also announced Rs 1 lakh for the renovation of the Hanuman temple in Akya village and Rs 5 lakh for the construction of community buildings in the village. Meanwhile, BJP District Secretary Mahim Thakur, Rural Mandal Chairman Laxman Kag, Narhari Dangi and many villagers also attended.
