An Apple Original Movie ‘Tetris’ will be released at this year’s South by Southwest event.
‘Tetris’ is the story of a video game salesman who wants to get the rights to Tetris. Taron Egerton of ‘Rocketman’ fame plays Rogers, and Tetris game developer Alexey Pajitnov plays Nikita Efremov.
The official Tetris Twitter account posted an announcement and said that ‘Tetris’ is coming soon to Apple TV+. No date has been set for ‘Tetris’ to debut on Apple TV+, but SXSW will air live from Austin, Texas, from March 10th to March 19th.
The rights to the original film were acquired in November 2020, and will join other Apple films such as ‘Liberation’, ‘Lucky’ and ‘Shopper’ when released on Apple TV+. Apple TV+ costs $6.99 a month and features ‘See’, ‘Ted Lasso’ and ‘The Morning Show’ original programming.
