Sir Robert Buckland named the Swindon Museum of Computing, a local volunteer organization, Charity of the Week.
The Swindon Museum of Computing is the UK’s first physical museum dedicated to the history of computing.
It is in the center of Swindon on Theater Square and is run by volunteers.
The museum works closely with other local museums through the Wiltshire Museums Group and the Swindon Museums Group.
“Visitors dedicated to the history of computing and digital development will enjoy not only historic computers such as the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64, but also old arcade games, BBC Micros, and various 80’s and 90’s game consoles that you can actually play,” Buckland said.
“I highly recommend a visit if you haven’t been there yet.”
