The last day to file a claim for a portion of the large payment was Monday, January 23, 2023. However, just days before the deadline, T-Mobile announced another cyberattack on January 19th, which has now affected at least 37 million customers. .
T-Mobile attorney Kristy Brown called the attack “an entirely separate security incident” from the 2021 breach, adding that potential victims would be able to individually seek compensation.

What Happened in the T-Mobile Cyber Security Incident?
On August 15, 2021, T-Mobile reported experiencing difficulties.. It’s not immediately clear exactly how many customers have been affected. T-Mobile said the names, addresses and PINs of about 850,000 people were “compromised”.
However, according to court filings, the data of about 76.6 million people was exposed. And hackers selling information on the dark web told Vice that they had personal information related to more than 100 million T-Mobile users.

According to Law.com, fewer than 2 million class members have filed claims, which is well below the average response rate considering the number of people affected.
