Messaging app WhatsApp now allows users to message themselves in its latest update.
The new feature allows WhatsApp to compete with other apps like Telegram, which have always allowed their own transfer options. Prior to the update, WhatsApp users had to create groups just for themselves to send notes or messages.
According to BGR, the messaging platform has added several other features, including an option to undo deleted messages, support for drag-and-drop media sharing, and a date filter for searching messages. A notable advantage of WhatsApp is its proxy server support. This means users can set up a proxy and connect to your app even if your region or country actively blocks its use.
The latest WhatsApp update requires an iPhone with iOS 12 or later. WhatsApp is a free download from the App Store, but there are in-app purchases for third-party products.
