Vehicle with 8 cows illegally seized, driver detained in Soyatkalan


Soyatkalan (Madhya Pradesh): As part of a crackdown on illegal cattle trafficking across the state, a pickup truck carrying eight cows was seized in the Pirawa region on Saturday and the driver was arrested. Under the direction of SP Rakesh Singh Sagar, a special team led by SDOP Pallawi Shukla started driving and upon input they intercepted a vehicle with registration number MP68G0713 on its way to Maharashtra in Pirawa district. The driver saw the police and tried to flee, but was caught at the bus stop.

Meanwhile, one person managed to escape from the spot. Upon checking the vehicle, it was confirmed that eight cows were being transported without permission from the relevant ministries. After the driver failed to present documents related to transporting the cattle, the police seized the cattle valued at Rs 84,000 and the vehicle valued at Rs 6,000,000.

The driver, identified as Amir Khan, 31, from Yadav Colony, Ujjain District, has been arrested. A case under the MP Cattle Slaughter Act 2004 and relevant sections of the Animal Cruelty Act was registered against the duo. Police launched an investigation to arrest the fugitive. SHO Laxman Singh Deora, Sub-Inspector Sumer Singh Meena and the entire team have played an important role in this regard.
